From fighting and drugs, Mario turned to God and entered a Christian alcohol and drug rehab program called Teen Challenge, which instilled in him the desire to work with youth, and provided him with a biblical foundation to face challenges in university. In his home area of Hobbema (AB), Marios goal is to help youth to develop social skills and offer them a positive alternative to the negative influences around them.
